Okay, I am stretching a point, but stick with me.

Imagine Heaven.  You are in Heaven and it is time for the 10:00 P.M. news just before you go to bed.  The grandstands are full of angels and saints.  Spirits are high.  The weather report comes on,  what our Lord Jesus Christ did today, how the saints are gathering and enjoying Him.  What is happening.

Then earthday highlights come on.  The projectionist rolls the tape.  There is Joe Christian facing a hostile, demanding boss.  He swears at Joe and threatens to fire him. Joe looks at him, neither angry, defensive or about to burst with self-justifying comments. He leaves the bosses office.  Later when Joe is at home with his wife, she asks him  about his day. He says, “Norman got mad at me again. God is a-foot in his life and he takes it out on me.”

One angel elbows another and says, “God is so wise to use Joe to get the Gospel to Norm and norm to build Joe’s spiritual muscles.  As they say, ‘A smooth sea never made a skillful sailor.’  God is using each on the other. Pretty smart.”

Seeing Joe’s response, thunderous applause breaks out in Heaven.  God has again shown His wisdom and power to sustain one of His own who is being falsely persecuted.  Joe was in the movies.

And how do we know this happens? Because Ephesians 3:10 says:

“His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms . . . .”

NIV

“The purpose is that all the angelic powers should now see the complex wisdom of God’s plan being worked out through the church . . . .”

We also can be in the movies.  By responding in God honoring ways,  we may make the highlight reel,  causing God’s wisdom to be further displayed.
