We first became aware of the situation at a church camp in Cuba. Boys were playing catch – pretty normal activity for boys. But then we discovered the “situation.” The boys were playing with a rock in a sock for their ball.
No way we were not going to do something about that!
Many American Little League teams discard balls at the end of a given season. Because of the generosity of American Christians, we bought several buckets of balls from local sporting goods stores. Others were purchased through the internet. And then – as word spread – people began to give us balls. What a joy to deliver them to boys in Cuba.
